We wanted to inform you about some important updates to our platform that will enhance the security of your transactions. Starting from 21 October 2024, some outbound payments made via our online platform may require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This additional security step will help ensure your payments are processed safely and securely.
If you’re short on time, here’s a quick overview of the key changes:
What’s changing? Starting from 21 October 2024, some payments made via our platform will require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
What stays the same? Payments to trusted beneficiaries or under EUR/GBP/USD 30 will not require 2FA.
What do you need to do? Be prepared to authorise payments using 2FA via SMS or the Authy app for certain transactions.
For customers who prefer to deal via telephone or email, this change does not apply to payments instructed on your behalf by your account manager. These transactions will continue to be handled without the need for 2FA.
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
2FA is an extra security measure where, in addition to your regular login credentials, you’ll need to confirm your identity by entering a unique code sent to you via SMS or the Authy app, similar to how you already access the platform.
When will you need to use 2FA for payments?
- Payments to new beneficiaries.
- Payments over EUR/GBP/USD 30 (or equivalent in another currency).
For these transactions, you’ll be prompted to authorise the payment using 2FA before it can be completed.
What payments are excluded from 2FA?
- Payments to “trusted beneficiaries” that you’ve successfully paid before.
- Low-value transactions under EUR/GBP/USD 30 (or equivalent).
Why are we making this change?
At Rutland FX, keeping your payments secure is our priority. By adding 2FA for certain payment authorisations, we are further protecting your transactions from unauthorised access and potential fraud.
